Bob Lederer

Background: Bob is a white Jewish bisexual man in his mid-30s who grew up near Washington DC. Bob is a life-long leftist activist and came to ACT UP in 1988.

Role in ACT UP: Bob is the chair of the Alternative Treatments and Holistics Subcommittee.

Specific tasks at the March 13, 1989 meeting: Bob is on the agenda to give the report from the Alternative Treatments and Holistics Subcommittee: The committee is working on an April teach-in describing the medical model for AIDS and the medical establishment’s inability to deal with chronic diseases.

Bob is also on the agenda later to announce a (non-ACT UP) demonstration against US aid to El Salvador. The United States is sending money to El Salvador to support a right-wing, fascist government.
