Mark Carson

Background: Mark is a 35 year old white man who grew up in Pittsburgh. He got a BA from Geneva College and an MFA from the University of Denver. After having a small role in George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, Mark moved to New York to pursue acting, which he did off-Broadway while also working as an editor at Time, Us, and 7 Days. 

Role in ACT UP: Mark is in the affinity group Seeing Red.

Groups/friends at the meeting: Seeing Red; Brian Zabcik (Mark works in the same building as Brian at Park Avenue between 32nd and 33rd St., and encouraged Brian to come to ACT UP)

Specific tasks at the March 13, 1989 meeting: Seeing Red is on the agenda, during the Target City Hall report, to ask the floor for approval to use the ACT UP logo on their posters for Target City Hall.
