Seize Control of the FDA

This was ACT UP’s previous major action. On October 11, 1988, ACT UP New York and a coalition of AIDS activist groups from around the country (ACT NOW) held a massive demonstration at the headquarters of the FDA in Rockville, Maryland. 1,000 people participated, and 180 were arrested, demanding faster development of treatments.
